World Hunger Day

On World Hunger Day, please join us in praying for provision for those who don’t have enough to eat:

  • There are 795 million undernourished people in the world today. That means one in nine people do not get enough food to be healthy and lead an active life.
  • Hunger and malnutrition are the number one risk to health worldwide — greater than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.
  • The vast majority of the world's hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished.*

Please pray specifically for the food shortages in Ethiopia. As Sidney Muisyo, Vice President of Compassion’s Africa Region explains, “The current El Niño, which the UN calls “one of the strongest weather events ever recorded,” has caused disaster for planting and livestock production across the country, impacting over 10 million people.
