Child headed households in Rwanda
Compassion's Highly Vulnerable Child Specialist in Rwanda asks us to pray for child-headed households.
Rwanda has the highest proportion of orphans and child-headed households in the world. These are children who have lost their parents to HIV and AIDS, young people who lost families during the 1994 genocide and children whose relatives have been imprisoned for genocide-related crimes. UNICEF estimates that more than 100,000 orphans live in child-headed households in the country.
- Please pray for God to provide his peace, grace and wisdom for those growing up in such challenging environments.
- Pray for the provision of foster homes and foster parents for children and young people in need.
