Pray for Haiti Following a 5.3 Magnitude Earthquake

Please continue to lift up the nation of Haiti after several earthquakes hit the southern part of the country on Monday, 24 January. Early reports estimate at least two people were killed, and homes have been damaged.

These earthquakes are aftershocks from the quake, which struck the same region on 14 August 2021. The largest of the aftershocks was a 5.3 magnitude earthquake. While the damage and loss of life may not be as large as in August, the psychological toll is still very traumatic, prompting memories of the deadly earthquake just months ago.

• Pray for God’s comfort to surround those who morn. Pray that our Heavenly Father will be close to the families of those who’ve lost loved ones.
• Pray for those whose homes have been damaged. Ask for God’s strength and provision so they can make repairs.
• Pray for the psychological impact of these aftershocks. Pray for God’s peace to be with each person feeling frightened and discouraged.
• Pray that the local church will be a beacon of light, providing comfort and support to all those who need it.
