Earthquake in Peru

Peru was hit by a magnitude-5.5 earthquake on Sunday August 14th 2016, near the city of Arequipa in the southern part of the country. The earthquake struck at 02:58 GMT which was around 21:58 local time. New reports suggest at least four people have lost their lives and many more have been injured. The quake also caused widespread damaged to homes.

Compassion Peru gives thanks that there have been no reports of loss of life amongst sponsored children.

Please pray for all those affected by the earthquake at this time. Pray for quick and effective rescue efforts.
