Pray for protection against cholera
Please pray for children in Haiti to be protected from cholera. Medical experts fear a dramatic rise in cholera cases following Hurricane Matthew which struck the country on 4 October.
According to the Pan American Health Organisation, "Due to massive flooding and its impact on water and sanitation infrastructure, cholera cases are expected to surge after Hurricane Matthew and through the normal rainy season until the start of 2017."
Haiti has been battling an ongoing cholera epidemic, unwittingly triggered by the arrival of UN troops after the 2010 earthquake. Around 10,000 people have lost their lives since. In response to the growing crisis, the World Health Organisation is sending a million doses of the cholera vaccine to Haiti where an estimated 200 cases of the disease have been reported since Hurricane Matthew hit.

- Lift up the distribution of the cholera vaccine - pray it would reach those who need it most.
