Pray for Benjamin

Cecilia Yepez from Compassion Ecuador has sent us an update on Benjamin. She rejoices that 6-year-old Benjamin is doing remarkably well considering the circumstances. He was in hospital in Guayaquil for less than a month.

- Keep praying for Benjamin and his three siblings Sam, Zara and Ruth, who tragically lost their parents and two siblings in the quake. At the moment they are living with grandparents on their mother’s side in Duran, their hometown. Both sides of the family are discussing who should take care of the children in the long-term. Pray for God’s wisdom and grace to be at the centre of conversations.
- Lift up Benjamin's sister Ruth who is still in hospital.
- Ask God to heal Benjamin's cousin Brian who is recovering from a serious leg injury caused by the quake. Brian shielded Benjamin from a falling concrete beam, saving his life.
- The local Compassion project is providing specialist counselling for Benjamin and his siblings. Pray for these sessions to bring healing and comfort.

Tragically Benjamin lost both parents and two of his siblings in the earthquake that struck on 16 April. Benjamin is still in hospital with serious injuries and suspected brain damage.
Please pray for healing for Benjamin. Pray for God to work in his heart and give him comfort and peace as he tries to come to terms with what has happened. Ask God to provide a loving and supportive relative to become a guardian for Benjamin and his two siblings who survived the quake.
