Young carers like Sintia
We’re passionate about helping the most vulnerable children in some of the world’s poorest communities. This means that many of the children who our church partners register into our Child Sponsorship Programme are young carers. Many are orphaned or have taken responsibility for their families as their parents travel away from home in search of work.
Please pray for children like Sintia. When Sintia’s sister Diana was one month old, her mother left the family home. Aged only 12 years, Sintia was left to bathe, feed and care for Diana.
“My father goes to work at 7 am and will be back home at night, so there is no one in our house who is able to keep Diana,” she explains.
Initially, Sintia dropped out of education, but thanks to the support of Compassion project workers, she's been able to return to school. Please pray for Sintia and her family. Pray for our partner, Getsemani Baptist Church, as they continue to support the family. Ask God to help others like Sintia who give up their childhoods to care for others.
