2 years after Haiyan

As we mark 2 years since Typhoon Haiyan, please continue to remember the Philippines in your prayers.

Pray for:

  • Children and families who continue to live with the effects of the disaster. Pray for children like 11-year-old Jerry who was separated from his father following the typhoon.
  • Those who are continuing to rebuild their homes and livelihoods. Praise God that thanks to the generosity of Compassion supporters, more than 4,000 severely affected families were given new homes.
  • Our church partners in the Philippines. Thanks to RESPOND funding, many sponsored children, church pastors and Compassion project directors have been given stress debriefing and voluntary counselling since Haiyan. As one of the pastors commented, “The struggle is long way ahead to fully recover, and it would still be a lot harder in the upcoming years, but the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases."
  • The thousands of people our church partners witnessed to in the aftermath of Haiyan. Our church partners report sharing God's word with many of the 10,000 children and families helped during the Compassion's emergency relief assistance. Please pray for lasting fruit from these conversations.
