Update: Fire in the Philippines

It has been confirmed that the fire that broke out in the Philippines at the beginning of June destroyed the homes of 18 Compassion sponsored children. 

  • The church has collected clothing, money and other items to support the affected beneficiaries and their families.

The RESPOND initiative is providing disaster funds to help provide light housing materials to set up temporary shelters until more permanent solutions are carried out.

 

11 July 2017

At the beginning of June a fire broke out on Mactan Island in the Philippines. 16 beneficiaries have been reported as affected. An additional 13 are estimated to be impacted.  

The Compassion church partner is using the RESPOND initiative's reimbursable disaster funds to support those affected. 

Please join us in praying for provision for our beneficiaries who lost homes and personal items.  We will contact you directly if your sponsored child has been impacted.
